The vocal sextet Les Aléas was formed in the spring of 2022 under the impetus of long-standing friends and colleagues. It was the desire to tackle a varied and popular repertoire through the delicacy and rigour of a cappella music that brought these 6 young singers together.
Offering a fresh take on both the classical concert format and the repertoire covered was a major motivation behind the creation of the ensemble. Through arrangements selected or created for the occasion, the repertoire covers a wide range of periods and genres, revisiting the great opera arias and French chanson, as well as traditional music and popular films. This versatility was widely appreciated during their first tour of Gironde in August 2022, by seasoned music lovers and novices alike. A successful venture, in short, for this ensemble, which is seeking to break away from the sometimes austere and elitist vision of classical music and reach out to a new audience, while at the same time asserting its lyrical essence.
